Write a ReviewCanteen Trigg is a spot I often find myself gravitating to in Perth. The location, right across from the beach, makes it perfect for a coffee after a morning swim. The sea breeze and views are hard to beat. It's usually buzzing with locals, beachgoers, and families soaking up the relaxed vibe.
The coffee here is decent, not mind-blowing, but it does the job. It has a reliable, consistent taste that keeps me coming back. I usually grab a flat white, but they offer all the staples you'd expect—lattes, cappuccinos, and a few sweet treats on the side. Their service is fairly efficient for how busy it often gets. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, particularly on weekends, but nothing too crazy.
They've got good options for seating. I like to sit outside when the weather's nice. They also cater well to different needs with wheelchair-accessible seating and even a toilet. It makes it easy for everyone to enjoy. You might spot a few dogs lounging by their owners' feet outside. It's a nice touch for those who like to sip coffee with their furry friends.
Food-wise, the menu covers a good range without being overwhelming. Avo on toast is a winner and always fresh. Their burgers are satisfying and fill you up after a day in the sun. If you're not super hungry, they've got lighter options too, like croissants and tasty muffins. Sometimes I just go for a veggie wrap and feel good about it.
Canteen Trigg's also got a takeaway option if you're in a hurry or want to enjoy your meal on the beach. I've done that a few times, and there's something special about munching on a sandwich with sand beneath my toes. The takeaway service is usually quick and efficient, so there's no hanging around.
During the summer, there's a real buzz in the air. Trigg Beach tends to draw a crowd when the sun's shining. It's great to watch surfers tackling the waves as you sip your drink. After visiting Canteen, I often stroll down to Mettam's Pool. It's a lovely spot for snorkeling or just a quiet swim if the waves are too strong.
If you're into walking or biking, the coastal path is nearby too. I love taking my bike for a spin along the path. It stretches on for miles, offering views that'll have you stopping for photos. Some people finish with ice cream at Yelo, which isn't far from Canteen. It's got a laid-back vibe as well and more views of the ocean.
Parking's usually pretty manageable around here, especially with the wheelchair-accessible spots. Though if it's a scorching summer weekend, it can be trickier to find a spot. I'd suggest coming early to beat the rush.
Their website gives a good run-down of the menu, and hours are consistent. Open daily from 6:30 am to 8 pm, it's got a nice, reliable schedule. Whether it's a sunrise coffee or a dinner while watching the sunset, they've got you covered.
All in all, Canteen Trigg is one of my go-to places when I fancy a good, simple coffee with an unbeatable view. It's not overly fancy, but that's the charm. It's all about the location, the friendly atmosphere, and those beach vibes. Next time you're around Trigg Beach, stop by, grab a coffee, and see for yourself. It's the kind of place that draws you back time and time again.
