Layers Bakery in Subiaco is a spot I've come to know well. As someone who roams through Perth's many coffee havens, this place stands out. It sits snugly on Station Street, a lively little hub on any given day. Subiaco is quite charming with its blend of local shops and eateries, and Layers Bakery fits right in.

The first thing you'll notice walking in is the smell of fresh-baked goods. It's cozy but in a way that makes you feel at home right away. They did a fine job with comfy seating and natural light floods in through big windows. Right there, I felt the need to settle with a good book or just people-watch. The vibe's relaxed, no rush or fuss, just a nice place to unwind.

I tried the coffee here, and it was pretty spot-on. Sometimes, I think it's almost as good as top-tier cafes in the city. They brew it just right, and you can tell they care about quality. The cakes and pastries are the stars here, though. You might find it hard to choose, but I'm a fan of their croissants. Flaky and buttery, they go perfectly with coffee, unsweetened. I usually enjoy a morning treat, but the loaves and quiches are also worth a try.

Layers Bakery isn't just about baked goods. They offer quite a selection for lunch, from sandwiches to light bites. Next time, I'll try their savory pies—they looked pretty tempting. One cool thing is their dog-friendly policy. On sunnier mornings, you'll see dogs lounging outside while their owners sip coffee. It's nice if you're out for a stroll with your pup.

The bakery's wheelchair-accessible and that's big for inclusivity. It makes me happy to see places thinking of everyone's needs. They have Wi-Fi too, so it's a decent spot for getting some work done or just surfing the web if you're out for a while.

Layers doesn't stay open late. They're usually on a 7 am to 2:30 pm schedule, Tuesday through Saturday. It's a bummer if you crave a late coffee, but mornings here are just right. I usually stop by on my way to work or if I'm in the area on a weekend.

Speaking of the area, Station Street's got a bit to offer. After a pastry or two, you might fancy a walk. Subiaco is warm and inviting with plenty of sights within walking distance. There's a creative vibe with plenty of small galleries and art shops. If you're into shopping, there are some nice boutiques here too. Not far from Layers, you've got the markets which are a treat on fine weekends. It's bustling with produce and artisan creations, perfect for a wander.

Public transport's nearby too with the train station not far off. It's convenient if you want to get around without a car. The area has parking options but public transport's an easy way in.

Rating-wise, Layers Bakery sits at an impressive 4.8. From what I've seen and tried, the numbers do them justice. Good service and quality are hard to miss here. Staff adds to the welcoming air; they're quick with orders and pretty friendly, always ready to suggest something tasty.

For delivery fans, Layers bakery does keep up. They offer a same-day delivery service which can be a lifesaver if you're busy. It's handy if you can't make it out but still want something warm and tasty.

After a few visits, I'm sold. Layers Bakery managed to carve out a space that's theirs in a pretty packed cafe scene. Regulars and newcomers will find something to enjoy, whether it's the food, atmosphere, or the street scene of Subiaco. Places like this are why I love exploring Perth's coffee spots. There's always something new or different that keeps drawing you back.

All things considered, Layers Bakery's a gem. Its combination of stellar coffee, fresh pastries, and a warm setting is hard to beat. If you're around Subiaco, make the stop here. It's a great way to start the day. Whether you come alone or with company, Layers Bakery will sort out your coffee and pastry needs, no doubt about it. Just be sure to get there before their closing time so you don't miss out.
