Write a ReviewI popped into Cake and Coffee Co in Subiaco the other day. It's a cozy little spot tucked away on Forrest Street. I'm big on my coffee shops, and this one hits the spot just right. They open early, which is great for my morning caffeine fix. The folks there serve up a pretty mean cup of coffee, and they made me feel welcome right away.
What struck me first was how inviting the place is. The chairs are comfy, and there's a nice selection of seats, whether you're flying solo or with friends. I also noticed that the place is wheelchair-accessible, so everyone can enjoy the space comfortably. It's always good to see that sort of inclusivity.
Cake and Coffee Co doesn't slack when it comes to their menu. Their cakes are top-notch; I recommend trying at least one. They're known around the area for them, and I can see why. Plus, if you're not in the mood to sit there, you can always grab your order to go.
I saw a few people with dogs chilling outside. I love that they allow pooches; it makes the place feel even more like a community hub. It's a great spot to stop by if you're out walking your dog. Heads up, though—They're closed on Sundays, so plan your visits accordingly.
In terms of internet, they offer free Wi-Fi. I found it pretty decent to get some work done during my stay. I wouldn't call it lightning-fast, but it got the job done for emails and streaming some tunes. That's another point in their favor in my book.
The locals seem to love it here, given how packed it was. It feels like one of Subiaco's hidden gems. Given its location, it's close to Rokeby Road where you'll find boutiques and other eateries. So after your coffee, there's plenty to explore in Subiaco.
Their service was quick, and the staff were on point. I did some eavesdropping, and it turns out they get pretty good feedback on their efficiency. Despite being busy, they didn't miss a beat.
Subiaco is bustling and full of character. It's worth making a day of it if you're not local. There's Kings Park nearby if you're up for a stroll. The park offers some stunning views of the city and is a hit for picnickers and joggers alike.
If you're planning another pit stop, you'd be delighted that there's a range of nice places. Everything from quaint shops to trendy restaurants is within walking distance. I grabbed a bite down at a little Italian joint nearby afterwards. It rounded off the morning quite nicely.
Back to Cake and Coffee Co—it's really a standout spot for a catch-up or solo visit. But don't just take my word for it; the flood of five-star reviews backs it up too. The vibe in there is relaxed, not pretentious. You don't have to be a coffee expert to enjoy it here.
Their opening hours are pretty standard on weekdays, running until 2:30 pm. It suits me just fine, especially since I often swing by after a bit of shopping or if I'm just escaping the office for a bit. It's somewhere I could see myself going to regularly, and I wouldn't mind making it part of my weekly routine.
I was pretty impressed overall but remember, they do close early on Saturdays and are completely closed on Sundays. That's their style, and it doesn't bother me. It gives me one more reason to look forward to Mondays, oddly enough. The times suit that local crowd and those who wander in from various parts of Perth for a cuppa and some cake.
Whether you're in it for the coffee, the cakes, or the chill vibes, Cake and Coffee Co has something for you. I'm glad I stumbled across it, and I'll definitely be back. Give it a try next time you're in Subiaco. You might just find it becomes one of your favorite spots too.
