Cafe Melograno is one of those places that makes you feel at home. It sits on Heytesbury Road in Subiaco, tucked away from the main hustle of the busy city. This place opens early every day, which is great for morning people like me. I love that it opens at 6 am most days. If you need a morning espresso fix, this spot is ideal. On Sundays, it opens at 7 am, so plan accordingly.

If you've been to Subiaco, you'll know there's plenty to do around here. The Subiaco Arts Centre is just a short walk away. It's nice to grab a coffee and wander over for some culture. But let me dive right back into Cafe Melograno because what's inside is even more inviting.

Try their brunch menu — it's one of the main reasons I come. They do an amazing smashed avocado that has folks coming back again and again. Their cappuccinos are just right too, creamy with a good balance. Coming here means you can sip your coffee with your furry friend by your side. Yes, they allow dogs, and you often see a few wagging tails around.

Walking into the café, you immediately notice the relaxed vibe. The space isn't too fussy, which I like. I can sit with a book and feel right at home. On sunny days, the outdoor seating is where I love to sit and watch the world go by. Those chairs fill up fast, though, so it's best to come early or maybe during the lull. They even have umbrellas for the really hot days.

Accessibility is good too, with wheelchair-accessible seating available. This is a thoughtful touch and makes it a welcoming stop for everyone. They also have toilets, which are clean and easy to find, a relief for anyone planning to stay awhile.

For those busy days when you don't have time to sit, they offer takeaway and even delivery. I've used the delivery option on lazy weekends, and it always arrives hot and fresh. There's something comforting about having your favorite brew delivered right to your door.

Just across from the cafe, you'll find Market Square Park. It's a lovely spot to relax if the cafe is full. Grab a coffee to go, and enjoy it amidst nature. The park is ideal for stretching your legs or having a little picnic with something you bought from Melograno.

The staff here are genuinely friendly. They remember regulars, which adds a nice personal touch. This isn't just another coffee shop; it's a community space. If you've got a question about what to order, ask them. They know their menu inside and out and will guide you to something you'll love.

Over time, I've grown attached to their baked goods as well. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. The almond croissant is worth trying if you get the chance. It's flaky and pairs beautifully with their lattes.

Don't forget to check out the Subi Farmers Market nearby. It's open on Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm. You can grab a coffee from Melograno, then head there for some fresh produce. The market has a buzzing atmosphere and plenty of nice finds.

Cafe Melograno also has a solid reputation online. With an average rating of 4.6 from over 180 reviews, that says a lot. People love this place for good reason, and I'm one of them. The quality here remains consistent, a feat for any café. The simple joy of sipping coffee in such a friendly setting keeps bringing me back.

They have an easy-to-navigate website too. It's worth checking out if you want a little more info before heading down. But I'd say the real charm is felt when you actually step inside.

That sums up why I keep coming back to this spot. It's the small touches, like welcoming dogs or the handy takeaway option. All this makes Cafe Melograno more than just a stop for coffee. It turns an ordinary morning into something special without trying too hard. If you're in Perth and haven't visited yet, you're in for a treat.
