Write a ReviewI've been around to quite a few coffee spots in Perth, but Mo Espresso keeps pulling me back. Situated on St Georges Terrace, it's super convenient if you work or shop in the city. Right away, you notice the vibe is relaxed and friendly. The staff always seem to genuinely enjoy serving a great cup. The place tends to be busy during the week since it's open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm. So, getting in early is a good idea.
First off, the coffee is top-notch. It's the kind that kicks you awake and makes you nod in approval. They've got a bunch of options, so if you're particular about your brew, you'll find something you like. I tried their flat white and it was smooth without being overly bitter—just how I like it. A regular there once gave me a tip: always ask what beans they've got on rotation. They sometimes switch it up and it's worth exploring.
If you're just passing through, there's ample takeaway options, which is great. But, if you have some time, settle in and enjoy a cup there. The smell of freshly ground coffee wafting through the air is pretty comforting. Plus, they allow dogs, so expect some furry friends at the outdoor seating when it's not busy. The whole setup outside is a pleasant spot for people-watching and enjoying your drink.
Food-wise, you can't go wrong with their brunch offerings. It's got a variety without being overwhelming. Their pastries are fresh, and the avocado toast always seems to hit the spot. It's like they know what you need before you do. The menu isn't massive, but what they do, they do well. Everything I've tried so far has been satisfying and just right for a casual bite.
In terms of access, Mo Espresso is really welcoming. There's a wheelchair-accessible entrance, making it inclusive for everyone. This is something you appreciate when you're lugging around strollers or heavy bags. Plus, even though the toilets are there, I recommend checking them out before peak time to avoid any wait.
On the weekends, Mo Espresso is closed, which is a bit of a bummer. But then again, when it's open, it's worth adjusting your schedule to pop by. Luckily, there are loads of other things nearby on weekends if you're around. The Perth CBD has some neat spots to check out. Not too far away are the Elizabeth Quay and the Perth Cultural Centre. Both have lots to see, like art galleries or just a peaceful place to walk.
And when you think of Perth, you can't forget Kings Park. It's a bit of a walk from Mo Espresso, but not too far if you're up for it. It's one of those places with incredible views of the city, and it's perfect for a bit of a breather in nature. Bring a friend, or maybe just your camera, because trust me, you'll want to capture the scenery.
Of course, St Georges Terrace itself is worth wandering down. It's got a mix of modern and historic buildings that give you a sense of the city's character. The pace is lively during the week, and you can grab a snack from one of the many little food places dotted around. Discovering bits of history and modern life is all part of the charm here.
Back to Mo Espresso, it's pretty easy to get there via public transport, or if you're up for it, a quick stroll through Perth is always enjoyable. If you come by bike, you might have to push it a little to find a spot to park it, but it's doable. Simply put, getting there isn't a hassle and that's always a win in my book.
Overall, Mo Espresso is a true gem in Perth's coffee scene. If you're a fan of great coffee and a cozy atmosphere, it's hard to beat. It's the kind of place you tell others about and then meet them there to show off your find. Next time you're in the area, drop by and see what the buzz is about. Just be sure to check their hours and maybe plan your visit for a weekday morning.
