Write a ReviewI drop by The Foundry in Midland quite a bit, and it has become one of my go-to spots for coffee. The place is easy to find on Foundry Road, Midland. We always manage to find parking, which is a plus. I first got pulled into the Foundry thanks to a buddy raving about the coffee. And they weren't wrong. The coffee is consistently good.
I like the laid-back vibe, and the staff are always friendly. The place feels open and welcoming to everyone. From the moment you step in, you see it's a casual, inviting spot. If you're in a rush, they do quick takeaways. The takeout serves the busy weekday mornings well. But sitting down here always feels like a mini-break from the grind.
For those with a conscience about accessibility, they tick all the boxes. The shop features wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance, seating, and toilets. I've seen families and folks with different needs come through without a hitch. It's nice to see a place that's mindful of these details.
There's more than coffee on offer, though. The Foundry serves a pretty solid range of snacks. If I'm not just grabbing a coffee, I often go for a sandwich or a pastry. They do simple things well, which suits me just fine. They have some sweet options too, which are great with a hot cup.
There's Wi-Fi available, so settling in with your laptop is easy. I see students and freelancers lounging around with their gadgets. It's a decent spot if you need a change of scenery from your usual home office. There is also outdoor seating, though whenever I'm there, it seems everyone else wants to sit outside too. Like me, they seem to enjoy sunshine with their coffee.
I ride here on my bike sometimes, and seeing folks with dogs makes me happy. Yep, dogs are welcome here too, which is tops for those of us who bring along a four-legged friend. The area is generally dog-friendly, and it's cool to see cafes embrace it too.
If you need another reason to visit, the weekend hours work well. They open at 8 am, which is decent for Saturday and Sunday mornings. Start your day here and then wander through the Midland area. You can check out the nearby Swan Valley for some winery tours. If whiskey is more your vibe, there are distilleries close by too.
And let's not forget the Midlands Gate Shopping Centre nearby. It's a short walk or a quick drive from The Foundry. Stopping by the cafe before or after shopping makes for a nice break. There is always something else you could pair your coffee stop with in Midland.
Midland feels like it's growing, and the community is vibrant. There's a mix of the old and new here. You can spot some history and modern sights all within a stroll. The railway workshops are another piece of Midland's rich history worth seeing.
Back at The Foundry, the average rating sits at a commendable 4.4 on a scale of 5. With over 500 reviews, it's not just me who thinks it's pretty great. Good coffee, good vibes. If you haven't checked it out yet, stop by and grab a cuppa. Whether you stay for a while or grab and go, there's a warm welcome that seems to stick with you.
The Foundry makes for a pleasant coffee stop, amidst a sensible, community-based locale. The area may be ever-developing, but The Foundry's blend of casual coziness and great service has clearly hit the right mark. It's a reflection of the wholesome nature of Midland itself, offering just what you need, right when you need it.
