Write a ReviewI recently checked out Nelly's in Midland and was pleasantly surprised. This spot has quickly become a favorite for my weekday coffee stops. They open nice and early at 6 am, perfect for starting the day with caffeine. The cozy atmosphere is welcoming, and the seating is comfortable whether you're with a group or chilling solo.
Accessibility is top-notch, with wheelchair-friendly parking, entrances, and seating. It's rare to find a place that checks all those boxes. Plus, they've got an assistive hearing loop, which can be a game-changer for some. Seeing inclusivity like this is refreshing.
Now, onto the coffee. It's rich and full-bodied, the way coffee should be. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but their flat white is consistently excellent. The baristas know their stuff, and the service is friendly without being overbearing.
Nelly's isn't just about coffee, though. They've got a small but tasty brunch menu. I tried the avocado toast, which was on another level. Creamy avo, cherry tomatoes, and a hint of lemon—simple but satisfying. The pastries are also a must, especially if you've got a sweet tooth like me.
While they don't open on weekends, this place is a gem for a mid-week treat or a workday break. The option to grab takeaway or have it delivered expands their appeal, though I love chilling in their space when I can.
You'll also spot the occasional pooch, as dogs are allowed. For dog lovers, it's a nice touch. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it perfect for catching up with a friend, reading a book, or even some quiet time with your laptop.
Midland itself is an interesting area with a few other spots worth visiting. Nelly's is located near a popular shopping center. So, if you're already out shopping, it's an ideal pit stop before or after hitting the stores. Around the corner, there's also the railway workshops, which are a piece of history and make for a bit of an explore if you're into that sort of thing.
Public transport in Midland is convenient, so getting here is straightforward even if you don't have a car. It's a short walk from the Midland train station, which connects well to the rest of Perth. That also means you can easily hop back into the city or other areas after your coffee fix.
I guess it's clear I enjoy popping into Nelly's. It's not just a place to grab a quick coffee; it's where you can unwind a bit. The vibe is simple and genuine, qualities that can be rare in the bigger chain cafés.
I'm planning to come back soon to try more of their brunch offerings. There's a rustic charm to this café that keeps folks like me coming back. Whether you're in Midland for work or adventure, this is a place worth stopping by.
