I love wandering through Fremantle, and Levi's Doughnuts is a must-stop each time I'm there. Nestled within the bustling Freo Markets, it's in prime location to savor while exploring. The market surrounds create a lively backdrop. The scents from nearby stalls blend with the aroma of fresh doughnuts, making for an inviting scene.

Levi's Doughnuts offers a simple but effective menu. It's mainly about the basics done exceptionally well. I can't go past their classic cinnamon doughnut. It's warm, soft, and covered in just the right amount of sugar and spice. They make them fresh right there, which adds an element of excitement. The sight of doughnuts being prepped as you wait is a delight. There's something about watching the process that makes eating them that much more satisfying.

Coffee here is straightforward but nice. It's made to complement the doughnuts perfectly without overshadowing them. They serve it hot and strong, just how I like it, perfect for a cooler day by the ocean.

Even though it's right in the market, Levi's doesn't have much indoor seating. This is typical for spots in a bustling market environment. However, that doesn't stop anyone from chowing down. People seem happy to find a spot out in the sun or on the near an outdoor bench. With Fremantle's usual mild weather, it's rarely uncomfortable to sit outside.

The hours are limited, open only on weekends and Fridays from 8 am to 6 pm. It feels more like a highlight of the market visit than just a coffee run. It's something I plan my trips around. Walking through the market during their hours gives the visit a community feel.

Access isn't a hassle at all. The entrance is wheelchair-friendly, so everyone is welcome to enjoy the treats. And if you have a furry friend, you'll be glad to know you can bring them along too.

Sometimes, I take my doughnuts and wander down to the Esplanade Park. It's just a short walk away. Sitting by the playground as kids run about, doughnut in hand, is quite serene. When I have more time, I join the crowd heading towards Bathers Beach. Watching the waves roll in while treating myself to something sweet never gets old.

Fremantle has a lot more to offer beyond the markets. Across the street from the market zone is the Fremantle Prison, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's a haunting but intriguing landmark where history buffs and general visitors find common ground. Not in the mood for history? The Little Creatures Brewery is not far off. It's a chilled spot to grab a beer, especially if doughnuts aren't quite your adult treat of choice.

Parking in Fremantle can be tricky on busy days, but there are plenty of lots around. I prefer taking the train when I can, avoiding the stress of searching for a parking spot. Walking from the station to the market is part of the joy, passing through the picturesque streets lined with historic buildings.

Levi's is also good for takeaways or delivery, for those who prefer enjoying their treats at home. Their service is quick, getting orders out without a hitch. Even though they're a stall, they handle takeout just fine. In some cases, they'll even do same-day delivery, which is perfect for spontaneous cravings.

And in case Levi's runs out of doughnuts — because they sometimes do, given their popularity — you won't be left idle with choices. The market is brimming with lively stalls offering everything from fresh produce to artisanal crafts. The atmosphere is always buzzing with activity and laughter.

Levi's doesn't overcomplicate the coffee shop vibe. They embrace simplicity and freshness, which is what keeps me coming back. It's a reminder that something doesn't need frills to be enjoyable. Walking into Levi's means knowing you're getting a treat to savor, whether with company or solo. If you've got a sweet tooth and a love for classic market vibes, this is a place to hit up next time you're in Fremantle.
