Write a ReviewBreaks, in Fremantle, feels like my go-to spot these days. Nestled right on High Street, it nails that chilled vibe. I've tried many coffee spots in Perth, but Breaks stands out. It's not just about coffee. It's about the feel of the place. Fremantle has this artsy, laid-back atmosphere, and Breaks fits right in. Plus, after my coffee fix, there's always something to explore around here.
Most places in Perth have decent coffee, but Breaks hits different. There's just something about the taste; maybe it's how they make it so smooth. Their hours make it easy to stop by whenever, except on Mondays—they're closed then. But from Tuesday to Sunday, you can count on them from 8 am to 4 pm. You know, weekends are especially nice here. Watching people stroll by as I sip my coffee is kind of the best. And if you've got a dog, bring your pup along. They allow dogs, which is a win in my book.
Wheelchair accessibility is a huge plus. Not all places are easy for everyone to enter or move around in, but Breaks is on top of that. Their seating arrangement works too, whether you're grabbing a quick coffee inside or lounging outside in the sun. Also, toilets are available, which sounds basic, but it matters. Especially if you're sitting for a while.
Outdoor seating is a game-changer. A sunny morning in Fremantle can't be overstated. Throw in a decent cup of coffee and you're set. I must mention their brunch. It's pretty good. The menu offers a decent variety without overwhelming you. And if you ever feel like staying in, they also do deliveries. But honestly, the vibe at the cafe itself makes it worth popping in.
Breaks isn't just about coffee and brunch. The staff is friendly without being up in your face. There's a balance they strike, knowing when to chat and when to let you just enjoy your coffee. Plus, they're swift with orders, even when it's busy. I hate long waits, but I've never been kept hanging here.
Fremantle's streets are alive with history and charm. After a coffee at Breaks, take a stroll and visit the Fremantle Markets. They're just a short walk away and always bustling. You can find artsy stuff, fresh produce, or just people-watch. The markets are iconic and worth the visit.
Down the road from Breaks, you've got the Shipwreck Galleries. History buffs or just curious minds should check it out. It's interesting, and I learn something new each time. Plus, it's way cooler inside during summer.
Another attraction not too far off is the Round House. It's the oldest public building in Western Australia, and the view from the top? Incredible. It overlooks the ocean and offers a moment to pause, soaking in the beauty of the Indian Ocean.
If you're into music, the Fremantle Arts Centre often has gigs. It's also a vibrant arts hub with new exhibitions all the time. For something different, you might stumble upon some live music on the streets. The artists here are passionate and create a lovely backdrop to your walk.
Still hungry after Breaks? The area's full of great spots to grab a bite. Lots of multicultural flavors, from Italian to Asian, and everything in between. The fishing boat harbor is another nearby spot worth the visit. Try some fish and chips while gazing out at the boats; it's a classic experience.
And, if you fancy a sweet treat, head over to little ice cream joints around. The ice cream in Fremantle has given my Perth favorites a run for their money. Perfect for a warm day.
Public transport makes getting to Fremantle easy. The train ride from Perth to Fremantle is kind of scenic, passing through some cool suburbs. Once you're here, most things are walking distance. It's a pedestrian-friendly place with plenty of paths and sights.
In short, Breaks and Fremantle make a perfect combo for a chill day out. The relaxed vibe, good food, and friendly faces keep pulling me back. It's more than just a coffee stop; it's where I kick back and enjoy the rhythm of Fremantle. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular like me, Breaks is a solid choice for coffee lovers. Give it a try; you might just find your new favorite spot too.
