Write a ReviewLake Espresso is my go-to when I'm in Claremont. It's cozy and charming, with a good vibe. The coffee is consistently great, which is the main draw. Every time I sip my latte, it feels like a warm hug. They open early, at six in the morning, so it's perfect for getting a caffeine kick before heading to work or starting the day. With Perth's warm weather, the outdoor seating is a bonus. I often sit outside, enjoy the sun, and watch people pass by.
The café's location on Lapsley Road is pretty convenient too. It's close to various shops and other local gems. Sometimes after a coffee, I wander around Claremont Quarter. It's a short walk away and has everything if you crave a bit of shopping. There are some neat boutiques and global brands there, so it's easy to lose track of time.
Claremont Park is also nearby, and I like to take my dog for a stroll there post-coffee. Lake Espresso, bless them, allows dogs, so sometimes, I'll sit with Fido at my feet, enjoying the calm. The service is friendly and quick, which I appreciate on busy mornings. You order at the counter, and they bring the coffee to your table. It feels casual but efficient.
I can't forget their food. It's mainly pastries and light bites, nothing too fancy, but decent if you want a snack with your coffee. Their croissants are flaky and fresh, perfect with a cappuccino. They also offer takeaway, which is super handy if you're in a rush. And for those who prefer to stay indoors or can't make it out, they offer delivery too. I haven't used it much, but it's nice to know it's an option.
For anyone with accessibility needs, you'll be pleased to know it's wheelchair-friendly. The entrance and seating are both accessible, and they even have wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Not every place takes care of these details, so it's good to see they've thought it through here. I've seen a diverse crowd enjoy Lake Espresso's inclusive vibe, from students to seniors.
When I'm not in the mood for coffee (rare, but it happens), the area offers other options too. There's the Claremont Showgrounds, which hosts events and fairs. It's a bit of a walk, but doable if you're up for it. For some culture, the Art Gallery of Western Australia isn't too far off. It's nice to balance things out with a bit of art after a caffeine fix.
Public transport around here is straightforward. Claremont Station is fairly close, so if you're coming from further afield, it's easy. Once in a while, I take the train instead of driving, just for a change of pace.
Lake Espresso is somewhere you feel welcome, whether for a quick coffee or a leisurely catch-up with friends. It's this consistency that keeps drawing me back. Sure, there are plenty of coffee spots around Perth, but this place has its own charm. It's not just about the coffee but the little comforts, the feeling that they genuinely care. A simple, quality-focused spot that's nailed the basics. Maybe that's why it always seems to have a steady stream of regulars. Whether you're a die-hard coffee fan or just need a calm corner to sit and think, Lake Espresso delivers, and it does so with a relaxed Perth vibe.
