Write a ReviewFORM Cafe in Claremont is a cozy spot I find myself visiting often. The place is tucked away on Shenton Road, not far from the heart of the suburb. It's a little gem that has become a staple for locals like me who appreciate good coffee without the fuss. The vibe is friendly and relaxed, and it genuinely feels like a community spot. That hits the right note for me, as I usually prefer places that offer a welcoming atmosphere over pretentious venues.
Whenever I visit, there's this comforting bustle as baristas churn out coffees while patrons chat away. The coffee here is solid, right up there with the best in Perth. They serve a mean flat white, rich in flavor but not too strong, just as it should be. For those who like to take their brew to go, they accommodate takeaway orders very efficiently. It's nice to have the option, especially when the weather's fine, and you want to amble over to nearby Lake Claremont for a walk.
The cafe doubles as a showcase for local art, which adds a bit of character to the place. Sometimes I'll sit and enjoy my coffee while taking in whatever exhibition is on show at the time. It's not just about the coffee, but an entire experience which includes art and a sense of being in a creative space.
The menu is simple yet satisfying. They don't overcomplicate things, sticking to breakfast and brunch classics. Their avo smash is popular, often gracing many tables around me. My go-to is the bacon and egg roll. It's wonderfully basic, but that's what makes it so good. They focus on doing it right, and that really shows through. It's also a dog-friendly place with outdoor seating available, so you'll often see patrons with their furry pals hanging about. Adds a bit of life to the setting, in my opinion.
Access is never an issue here. They've got a wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating, which is important. Not every spot in Perth can claim that, so it's worth mentioning. The toilets are accessible too, and they're kept quite clean – always a plus. Parking is straightforward, with a wheelchair-accessible car park you can count on.
As someone who enjoys exploring different places, FORM Cafe is strategically positioned. It's a stone's throw away from Claremont Quarter, where there's an array of shops to indulge in some retail therapy. You could easily pop in for a coffee and have an entire day planned around exploring Claremont's boutique stores. Claremont Showgrounds are also nearby, making it convenient to grab a coffee before heading to an event. It's like having the best of both worlds - a peaceful coffee break with the ability to dive into the bustling energy of surrounding attractions.
The place shuts early though, so it's more of a morning or brunch spot. They're open from 6:30 am, perfect for an early start. They close at 12:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, so don't plan on getting your caffeine fix in the afternoon. I suppose the early hours add to its charm as a ‘morning person's haven'.
Despite being a regular, I'm still fond of discovering what else Claremont has to offer around here. For example, Scotch College and its surrounding greens make for a picturesque stroll post-visit. Across Stirling Highway, you find Claremont Park, which is ideal if you need a bigger space to unwind.
Each visit to FORM Cafe is a little break from the everyday hustle. It's good coffee and good vibes in a place that feels like a part of the local identity of Claremont. If you enjoy low-key spots that serve excellent coffee and serve it with heart, this place fits the bill perfectly. The staff, the drinks, the ambiance – they all come together to make it a reliable go-to spot amidst my Perth excursions. Come here once, and you'll find yourself returning, maybe even making it your regular stop too.
