When I found myself craving a solid brew in Balcatta, I decided to swing by Creme Espresso Bar. Tucked along Balcatta Road, this little spot has become a bit of a go-to for me. The first thing I noticed was the easy parking right out front. Big win for those busy weekdays when I don't want to mess around with parking drama.

From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and welcoming vibe. The place caters to everyone with its wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating. For those who need their daily fix with a side of furry companionship, dogs are welcomed too. Many locals, myself included, enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. It's not one of those overly posh spots where you feel out of place in a t-shirt and jeans.

Creme Espresso Bar runs like a well-oiled machine during the week, from 6 am to 2:30 pm. It's not open on weekends, which is a bit of a bummer when the Saturday coffee urge hits. But during weekdays, it really aims to please, perfect for a pick-me-up before work or a quick lunch break. Their coffee consistently hits the mark, which isn't always a given even in Perth's vibrant coffee scene. They deliver on their coffee promise with each cup, evidenced by a solid 4.7-star average rating from a good number of reviewers.

The baristas know what they're doing. Service is efficient without making you feel rushed. They get the morning coffee rush but manage to keep a friendly demeanor. You know how some places make you feel like you're just another number? Not here. They remember your name, your regular order, and it makes you feel looked after.

Now, onto the star of the show: the coffee. A rich, smooth espresso that doesn't leave a bitter aftertaste. It's the kind of drink that keeps you coming back. The menu might not be the longest you've ever seen, but it covers all the bases – lattes, flat whites, cappuccinos, and some quirky seasonal specials. They also offer a decent brunch menu. If you're in the mood for a snack, a classic toastie or a freshly baked pastry will do the trick.

Creme Espresso Bar is also an awesome spot for takeaways. Sometimes I grab my flat white and a little treat and wander around the area. Balcatta isn't packed with tourist sights, but it's got its charm. There's a sense of calm and community, which feels like a nice break from the hustle of nearby spots like Innaloo or Scarborough.

It's worth noting that while Creme doesn't open weekends, nearby Stirling provides a little shopping and entertainment action if you're around. Plus, for the sports fans, Perth's golf courses aren't too far away. Sunset golf or an early morning round work well after a good shot of caffeine.

Back to the coffee shop, it's not just another anonymous pit stop. It feels part of the neighborhood. Every time I visit, I spot folks ranging from office workers popping in for a quick fix, to locals grabbing takeaways while walking their dogs. It's that kind of place – where you see familiar faces even if it's your first visit.

For the eco-conscious, there's a genuine effort here to keep things sustainable. I've chatted with other regulars, and we all seem to appreciate the in-house efforts to cut down on waste. They use recyclable cups for takeaways without making grand announcements or needing applause for doing their bit for the planet.

If there's one thing I'd love to see change, it would be the weekend hours. It'd be nice to have this spot as an option for a leisurely Saturday morning. But the weekday hustle here is pure delight, regardless.

In all, Creme Espresso Bar combines good coffee, friendly service, and a touch of neighborhood charm. Whenever you're around Balcatta during the week, it's worth popping in. The coffee alone will make you glad you made the stop. Just a reliable place in a part of town that could use more gems like this. It's where I start my morning whenever I'm in the area, and it's never once disappointed.
