Write a ReviewI visit coffee shops all over Perth, and 115 Groundhouse in Atwell is one I keep coming back to. The spot is on Lyon Road, not far from Adventure World, which means you can make it part of a fun day out down this neck of the woods. The shop itself is bright and friendly with staff who always seem happy to be there.
Right from the start, I noticed it's easy to get in and around. The place is wheelchair-friendly with accessible car park spaces, entrances, and seating options. For those sunny Perth days, there's plenty of outdoor seating. I've even seen folks with dogs chilling outside—it's nice to see a place so laid-back about pets.
The coffee here is smooth and rich, just like you'd want it to be. They open up at 6:30 am most days, making it perfect for an early caffeine fix. Except on Sundays, you'll need to wait until 7:30 am. For anyone serious about their morning routine, you can rely on them to open right on time. Their kitchen's open for brunch, and if you love breakfast foods, you'll be pleased.
I can't help but order their avo toast pretty often. It's a simple dish but done really well. For something more hearty, you might find their big breakfast filling. The delivery option is handy if you live nearby. Though for me, sitting in or grabbing a takeaway often depends on how my day's going.
While the coffee and breakfast are stars here, there's good stuff served all day. Once, I had a really tasty burger and another time, a delicious salad bowl. Each time, I enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and portions were just right. If you're like me and love variety, the menu changes things up pretty regularly. Everyone seems able to find something they like, and I hear the kids' options aren't bad either.
As you sip your coffee, you might notice how busy the place can feel without losing its relaxed vibe. Yet even during peak hours, I never wait long for a table or my order. This is probably thanks to the well-organized staff. After a few visits, they even started to recognize me. Feels like a nice touch, doesn't it?
The average rating on reviews online stands at a strong 4.6, which doesn't surprise me at all. With over 200 reviews, that says a lot about how good this place is. Those numbers match my experience: consistently good food and coffee, efficient service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
This area of Atwell is great for more than just coffee. While here, you could swing by Cockburn Gateway Shopping City for some retail therapy. Or, if you're more of the outdoor type, there's lovely walking at nearby Bibra Lake. You could even make a day of wandering around and just enjoy what this part of Perth offers.
For those like me who geek out over good coffee, 115 Groundhouse nails it. Sure, Perth has heaps of good coffee spots, but few manage the balance this place does. Between the warm service, dog-friendly space, and that killer coffee, you'll want to keep coming back here too. All in all, it's a classy, casual place that feels a bit like home.
I would say give it a shot, especially if you're in the area. Come try the avo toast or a cheeky midday burger and coffee. Whether you're lingering over breakfast with friends or snagging a quick cup to go, this shop is a standout. The easygoing feel, combined with its quality, makes it a clear favorite of mine.
If it's your first visit, relax and enjoy the vibe. Don't rush—it's worth savoring. And who knows? Maybe you'll become a regular like me.
