The Shore Cafe in Alkimos has a cool vibe going on. It's right by the sea, so you get those coastal feels when you visit. I mean, you can smell the ocean if the wind is blowing your way. This spot has become one of my go-to places when I'm exploring the coffee scene around Perth.

The cafe has a laid-back atmosphere that just makes you want to chill. The staff are friendly and seem to remember regular faces, which is nice. Inside, it's a mix of cozy and spacious. Plenty of room to move around, especially if you're rolling in with some mates. The decor is simple yet welcoming, and there are enough plants around to make you feel like you're getting some natural air, even indoors.

One of the best parts about The Shore Cafe is its accessibility. With a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance, getting in is easy peasy. They also have seating and toilets that cater to everyone, so kudos for that inclusivity. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, and whether you choose to sit inside or soak up some sun outside, you're in for a good time. On sunny days, I love taking my coffee outside, maybe even with my dog in tow. Yes, dogs are welcome here!

The menu offers a solid brunch option, which is great because weekends should always start with brunch. Whether you're after something light or want to indulge, they've got you covered. Though I'm a stickler for my standard flat white, it's hard to resist some of their brews. The smell alone can draw you in from across the street. They've got good breakfast rolls and maybe the best avocado smash around.

The cafe has decent hours, especially on the weekends, with a 9 am opening. On Saturdays and Fridays, they stretch it out until 7:30 pm, perfect for an evening coffee or a light dinner. During the week, they're open Wednesday to Friday, which is kind of random but it works! Monday and Tuesday? Don't bother. The doors are shut.

With food, I always make sure to leave room for sweets. Their selection might not be massive, but what they have is on point. The muffins and cakes usually leave a lingering temptation. Pair that with a strong brew, and you're set for an afternoon perk.

If you're into takeaway, they've got you sorted too. Sometimes I just grab my cup to go, take a short stroll down to the beach, and just relax. There's something comforting about carrying a warm drink while you walk by the water. Especially when the sea breeze mixes with the scent of fresh coffee. It's simple moments like this that make visiting The Shore Cafe a good experience.

The Alkimos area isn't just about coffee either. If you've got time, you might want to check out the local beach, which is a short walk away. It's less crowded than other popular Perth spots, offering a bit of seclusion while you soak in the sun or go for a stroll. There's also a park nearby for those into outdoor activities or just looking to break up their day with a bit of nature.

And if you're into a little bit of retail therapy, the nearby shopping area has got a few shops to browse through. Nothing over-the-top fancy, but sometimes window shopping is part of the fun. Plus, with the cafe so close, you can always pop back in for another coffee before heading home or continuing your adventure.

The Shore Cafe hasn't disappointed since I discovered it. Whether I want to catch up with friends, have some solo time with my book, or sip coffee with my furry buddy at my feet, it fits the bill. This little spot in Alkimos brings together the best parts of community vibes, good coffee, and easy beach access. For any coffee lover trekking around Perth, it's worth the northward drive. Just remember to check the opening days; it's always a bummer showing up on a closed day.
